Submitted by witness Man recalls his 1978 close encounter with a large hair covered creature in Wilkesboro
YEAR: 1978- SEASON: Summer,August
STATE: North Carolina -COUNTY: Wilkes County/ Wilbar, NC. Off 16 North about 8 to 10 miles. Roten Creek Road
NEAREST TOWN: Millers Creek/North Wilkesboro, North Carolina
OBSERVED: I was sitting at Popular Grove Church waiting on my girlfriends parents to go to work so I could see her. I
started walking up the dirt road then I cut up on Roten Creek Road still walking on a dirt road. When I was walking I had
a funny feeling and the hair on my neck and arms stood up. I passed by a local old lady's house, and saw car lights
coming down the road from a distance so I ran down, to my left, and into the corn field. I squatted down and was waiting
for the set of lights to come down the road, and as they passed, I saw another set of lights coming down the road,
which was my girlfriends parents leaving.
I was still squatting when I smelt a sudden (bad) odor (like mildew). I looked to the left then I looked to the right and I
didn't see anything until I looked directly behind me. At the edge of the mountain where the cornfield began, there
Bigfoot stood about 30 to 40 feet away from me.
He was starring at me with big dark eyes. He had an oval pointed head. I'd say about 6-8 foot tall and as wide as a
refrigerator. His arms were down beside him. He had big fingers, and hair 4 or 5 inches long all over his body. He had a
bow in his back. He just stood there. He didn't show any teeth or anything. I remember trying to get my legs to start
running but it was like I was frozen.
It took me about 10 seconds to start running (NOTE: there was lights coming down the dirt road the whole time all of
this was going on but we were both out of sight.) I started running. I ran into a barb wire fence getting to the road, then
went running up the road hollering. I told my girlfriend about it and told her not to tell anybody. This has haunted me for
years but I know for a fact that if he wanted to hurt me he could have.
OTHER WITNESSES: No
OTHER STORIES: Yes, my ex wife's- uncle's wife. We told them and they live near where I saw it, on the same side of
the road. She said she'd seen the same thing walking upright near the mountain, just like what I described to her.
TIME AND CONDITIONS: Morning hours between 5 and 5:30am. Dusky lighting. Warm not raining or frost.
ENVIRONMENT: Bottom of the mountain where the cornfield began. Creek is on other side across from cornfield.

LOCATION DETAILS: Exact location details withheld per request of the witness, but the sighting took place about six
miles east of Moultrie, GA, off of GA Hwy. 37.
NEAREST TOWN: Moultrie, GA
NEAREST ROAD: GA Hwy 37
OBSERVED: About a year ago, I was coming home from taking my grandmother to work. We lived on a paved but
heavily wooded road. There are numerous ponds and fields surrounding the area. As came across the final curve in the
road, something caught my eye. Just on the inside of the ditch by the pond before my house stood a figure. At first
glance I would have thought my eyes to be playing tricks. I slowed down and stopped fearing that I was going to hit a
large animal. I seen this tall figure (roughly 6 feet to 7 feet in height)turn and stare at my headlights. It was
Auburn-Brown and had very wirey hair. Its head was kinda of oblong like that of monkey. The face was flat other than
the wierd looking nose (looked like a squished pig nose). Its eyes glowed red in the headlights. Once I stopped, it
immediately turned and crouched into the ditch below. I was so scared of being attacked that I drove the half mile home,
ran inside and told my parents all about it.
ALSO NOTICED: A couple nights later I heard something making a howling noise that sounded close to the florida howl.
And something was watching me in the cow pasture next door.

TERRAIN: Wooded
OBSERVED: On friday march 12 at around 6pm I was going home from the store and I noticed something white
squatting down on the side of the highway near the creek about 30-40 yards ahead of me so at that time instead of
turning I went on toward it to see what and if I was really seeing what I thought I was seeing and as I got within about 10
yards of it, it stood straight up and turned around slowly and walked into the woods real calm and at that time I couldn't
believe what I had just seen. The thing was very large, dirty white, taller than the street sign that was near, and hairy
and I could tell it was not human or anything I had ever seen before, it scared me so bad I had tears in my eyes and
started shaking and went home and told my family about it.
Activities of Witness: Just had been to the store and was on my way back home.
Description of Creature: The creature was very tall when it stood up and was very wide shoulders and very hairy and
thick except for the

LOCATION: Murray County, GEORGIA
TERRAIN: Other
OBSERVED: I'm writing this for my 60 yr. old father, Who on the night of August 23 at around 11 pm. He was at his
land rocking on his porch when he saw two glowing animal eyes about 1000 feet away moving around the farm shed, it
was rustling near the shed making racket, now he would of just dismissed it, but 15 minutes later the creature walked
closer to his house and stopped near the large pond, and began to howl, and then gurgle growl. He lives in the country
and has a few neighbors with farm dogs/guard dogs, the neighborhood dogs went crazy barking. Now when I visited him
the next day, he said he heard the wildest animal noise he had ever heard, it gave him the chills. The creature made a
very loud howl that went into a gurgle growl. Maybe it is nothing but it sounds like what the Cherokees called the wild
man, or the hunched back night spirit.
Activities of Witness: Rocking on his porch, enjoying a clear sky and full moon at the base of the mountain.
