He's hoping that the new move will bring new stories about the Skunk Ape from the locals. Wishing you luck and don't be a stranger. |
| Diane Stocking-(her web site also on link page.) Diane has been a individual Researcher for about 30 years. She was born and raised in Cutler Ridge,Fl (South Miami) has a degree in Forestry and now lives in east central Fl. I'm not sure but I know she did live in Mims an East Coast town, as a reporter put it north of nowhere. At that time in 2000 she had documented only 30 cases that she felt were athentic. The other 70% turns out to be hoaxes. She has never seen the Skunk Ape, which she prefers to call Sasquatch, She believes that the Skunk Ape uses rural corridors to move between larger areas of the Green Swamp, where there were several sightings in the 80's Big Cypress National Park and Ocala National Forest. The Farmton Wildlife Management area, which is located down the road from her might be a pathway. She is an investigator/ Researcher who's not afraid to get her feet wet and that's a good thing if your going into the swamps searching. She said that she wasn't really frightened to run into the Skunk Ape but worries more about the other two legged versions. She carries a gun or sometimes takes her sons with her. She said then that she wasn't afraid of "Bigfoot" attacking her. On the interview she named Dan Jackson as one of her volunteer investigators, said he was one of the best. A former marine and retired reptile trapper,he knows what to look for in the field. She said then there were 6 Investigators that she was associated with through the state. Remember this was back in 2000 and I believe now she more or less goes it alone. She said later in an interview that she would like the Bigfoot cataloged and described for its own protection. As I hunted through the Internet when I decided to write about some of our Researchers I found where she said recently she was under the belief that the creature was not an ape( How about that, I didn't think anyone else had come to that conclusion,) She said that she believed that it's possible the Bigfoot is of the genus homo. Study of tracks, track ways,The P/G Film is showing many physiological traits that can be associated with the genus homo. You can find more about Diane Stocking on the Internet or go to my link page and go to her web site. |
| Bob Carr trained archaeologist of Miami, with the discipline of the true scientist he is, began back in 2000 analyzing the personal accounts of the Skunk Ape sightings and the scant physical evidence that exists to discover whether it is possible that the creature really does lurk around the Florida Everglades or else where in the Stat. He found some evidence to be credible but not conclusive. He noticed that sightings came in clusters in specific locations and the people who reported the sightings usually are normal, credible people with nothing to gain from lying. Most sightings are close to wilderness areas. Carr said that there does seem to be a physical phenomenon linked with the sightings. He believed that people were observing something real. Car also examined fur samples but test results failed to yield any DNA evidence that would constitute scientific proof of the Skunk Ape's existence. Skunk Ape sightings go back long before the white man came to Fl. to settle ,the Seminole Indians spoke of the "Wild man of the woods" (Thanks to Henry Cabbage, insert from a page in his story in the Florida Living Magazine written in 2000) |

| Everyone has heard of Dave Shealy that has an interest in the Skunk Ape. He has several web sites which you can look him up on. He's been in newspaper story's, magazines, on TV, in Documentaries Etc.... He's even in a documentary that I'm also in, though we've never met. The young college students went down to Ochobee to interview him and check out others in the area of the Everglades then they came back up to central Fl. to interview me. They were from Sail University in North Central Fl. I believe this was a school project. They did a fine job. You can see that film on You Tube. Dave has spent nearly his whole life looking for the creature. believed by many, to be the figment of his imagination. He's been on Unsolved Mysteries,The Daily Show,The Pulse,as well as Inside Edition. You've read about his adventures in the Enquirer,The Sun,The Miami New Times, and the Readers Digest, as the unofficial mayor of Ochopee, he spends a lot of his time in the Big Cypress Swamp searching for the Skunk Ape. |
