NATIVE CULTURE on the Bigfoot,Sasquatch and the Skunk Ape.
I'm sure there are many more names to add to the list. The map shows the different regions of the
different Indian Tribes.
It amazes me that so many Indian Tribes all over  North America,Canada and Alaska, even before the white
man came on the scene, knew about this Man-Beast and had a name for him. They sometimes looked at
him  differently in who he truly was/ is but they still claimed knowing Him and then all the different eye
witnesses all over the country and world, How can science not give some credit to so many people
knowing that this human like being is real?
Thank   you for this wonderful site. I needed some information and found it on your site.  I am going to be passing on
your site info to a few people I know who are interested in the skunk ape.
Once again, thank you for this information.  I also have a sighting to report and a story that you do not seem to have. It
was passed down through the tribe to me.
Sincerely,
Khat H.
Thank You for the praise and the great story.
The Sand People
Long, long ago when the people first came to this land, we discovered that we were not alone here. In this land dwelled
a people that were tall and covered with hair. We gave them the name Sand People because when we saw them they
were mostly wet with sand clinging to them.  Most often we would see them on the banks of rivers, quietly watching us.
When we approached them they would slip back into the forests and swamps and completely disappear.  One day a
Hunter for our  people was able to follow one of these strange beings to it's camp.
Hunter did not know that he had stepped into a trap by following the Sand Person, but soon realized his mistake as the
group ringed him in.
Finding himself surrounded, he laid his weapons down on the ground to show that he meant no harm. After a long wait
with all of them staring at him, one stepped forward. This Sand Person was bigger than the rest, so it was assumed he
was their chief. He faced the hunter and sat down in front of him and in a deep, gravelly voice asked Hunter why he
followed them. As the Hunter explained that it was simply out of curiosity only, the group seemed to relax. After being
silent for a moment the Sand Person asked Hunter what he wanted and Hunter replied "only knowledge of your people,
so that I may go back and tell my people about you".
This is the story he was told:
So long ago it is forgotten how long it really was, the Sand People were just like humans. They had cities and tools.
Grew their own food and hunted with weapons similar to ours. But, after many wars amongst themselves for ownership
of lands, the bands of the Sand People split up and grew smaller and smaller as time went by. No longer did they have
the skill to make weapons or grow food. They became more and more like the beasts of the swamps, until they were all
that remained of the once great kingdoms Sand Peoples reign.
This is all that is left of them. They are degenerates of a once mighty race of their people.
The Seminole also called the Skunk Ape "Mangrove People" as well as "Sand People".
