PINELLAS COUNTY-Peace River,Fl. / Near St. Petersburg/ Black Powder Shoot./ Late in the year, about 10:30 PM./
Sitting around the campfire three men heard something circling their camp./ They saw yellow eyes of the intruder and
they were about 7 feet off the ground./ It was very errie,one witness wanted to shoot at it but witness telling the story
said no./ There was a smell in the air. When it left curiously it didn't make a sound.
ST.JOHNS COUNTY-Two horse back riders see a Skunk Ape on railroad track.
MANATEE COUNTY-Ruskin ,Fl./ A father and son and a friend of the sons were camping and fishing./ They heard a
terrible scream and they thought they had better check it out in case someone needed help./ They didn't find anyone so
they went back to camp and turned in./ Hearing something enter camp witness turned on flashlight and saw a Skunk Ape
as it was coming into camp./ It turned and ran away./ They thought it might have smelt the fish guts they had left near
the water.
PASCO COUNTY-June/ Open field heard creature. Going to see what it was that made sound saw a 8 foot tall creature
run off into swamp. The group who all had guns decided to leave it alone and didn't follow it.NOTE-More
information-11:30 Pm./ Witness said they saw it for about 5 minutes./ They were curious then realizing what it was they
decided to get out of the area./ Central Pasco County near Crews Lake. Edge of wood line near swampy marsh./ There
was a little fog but no rain the ground was moist, but firm./ The creature was very fast as it ran away./ They heard the
creature first before seeing it,sort of howling growling noise./ When they reached the spot where it was hiding behind a
tree they could see where it had tore the bark off the tree./ It did have an odor./ They thought that it had been watching
them for a while before giving its position away./ It had good agility and long arms.
1984-MANATEE COUNTY-Late evening sighting by 9 year old camper near River Basin
