YEAR: 1988;SEASON: Spring;MONTH: April;DATE: unknown;STATE: Alabama;COUNTY: Lauderdale County
LOCATION DETAILS: On Waterloo Road going towards Waterloo, after you pass Gravelly Springs, you will pass a
Church on the right side of the road. After that you will pass 2 houses I think and a small hill. This sighting took place
just past that hill but was on the left side of the road. There was no mobile home there at that time , just a cow pasture.
NEAREST TOWN: Waterloo
NEAREST ROAD: highway 14 (Waterloo Road)
OBSERVED: The creature had its back to the road and was squatted down picking at something in the grass or picking
through the grass for something. Acted as though it wasn't concerned with us passing by.
OTHER WITNESSES: A friend of mine was driving, but he will not admit to seeing anything that day.
OTHER STORIES: Hadn't heard of any incidents prior to this.
TIME AND CONDITIONS: Late evening just before dark. Clear skies no rain. Visibility was very clear.
ENVIRONMENT: On the side of the road in short grass, beside a barbed wire fence.
DATE: 11/00/1988 TIME: Late Afternoon LOCATION: Marshall County, Mississippi TERRAIN: Wooded
OBSERVED: My husband and I were building a get a way cabin. We would go on weekends and work on the cabin
and clear the land etc. We lived and worked in Memphis. When we had the first snowfall, we headed out after work and
went to the property to see how many animal tracks were in the new snow. We had heavy wooded area on both sides
and were walking towards a large natural open clearing. We both commented on how there were no tracks, not even
little bird tracks, just clean beautiful snow. We both saw the footprint in the snow at the same time. I took a picture of my
size ten shoe next to the big imprint. Mine looked very small next to it. There were four steps in the snow and a long
distance between steps. The heel of imprint was extremely narrow compared to the width of the ball of the footprint. The
large foot imprint had only four toes. I asked my husband "what is this from" he said he didn't know but we needed to get
the hell out of there. We continued to go there on weekend, but we both always felt like we were being watched.
Additional Info: Even though this was very unsettling and I never walked into the wooded area after that afternoon,
what really has had me questioning what this was....where did this come from. You see, the clearing had no other prints
on it, they just appeared, it was if it flew in and flew out. Could not have jumped from trees, as there were no trees close
to where the prints were....and where they ended...same thing...no trees to jump onto. Just a large open clearing with
woods on both sides.
My husband and I were both working in upper management in our fields of work. It feels good telling about this snowy
afternoon. I know I have not been the same since...always looking when in wooded area, in any part of the country.
Activities of Witness: Husband and I had gotten off work, late afternoon, sun was still up. We drove our yellow corvette
to our getaway weekend cabin project. Checking to see what animal prints were in the new snow fall.
Description of Creature: No sighting of the animal...only four foot prints in the new fallen snow. Very large compared to
my large size 10 shoe. Very narrow heel with a much wider ball of foot with only four toes.
Other (Informational or Encounter History in the General Area) Notes: Never saw anything else while we spent
weekends in this area. There were many weekends where the birds were quiet..we always felt like we were not alone.
You better believe we always had large campfires going while we were there
