SIGHTINGS 1994
1994-DECEMBER-GADSON COUNTY-A hunter sighted a Skunk Ape on the Fl. and Ga. border.
1994-MARION COUNTY-Ocala National Forest,Fl.-March,3 / Family of three went to camp in a very primitive site in the
Ocala National Forest. A few miles north of the southern entrance. There weren't any other campers around. Deep
woods./ It was a wild and gorgeous spot an they set up camp. First night heard something in the trash bag. Witness tried
waking husband who refused to go look and went back to sleep. This is when she heard the screams far off into the
Distance, tried to figure out what it could be. It seemed like hours that the screams lasted. Awaking the next morning
figured garbage bag would be scattered but it was in tack. The next night young people came in and were being loud
but finally left in early morning hours. Didn't hear screams again.
1994-DUVAL COUNTY-Spring-Husband and wife nightime road crossing sighting.
1994-SUWANNEE COUNTY-July -Wellborn,Fl.-Two fishermen described a bluff charge by Skunk Ape outside of
Wellborn.Fishing after midnight. The witnesses heard something moving towards them. He asked in a whisper to his
friend did you hear that. They stayed quiet for a second or two then they heard it moving closer. Witness called out
"Who's there"? About that time it started running at them. They were shocked as two creatures ran up and away from
them hitting the water and could hear them splashing as they moved rapidly away. The witness said they stood in shock
for a second or two and then ran in the other direction
CLAY COUNTY- Green Cove Springs,Fl./ Near Jacksonville a man and his two daughters,one a sleep in the back
seat,were traveling down a road close to Penny Farms on a clear,light fog night , when he saw something on the other
side of the road./ his headlights illuminated the creature when he got closer./ It was 6 to 7 feet tall,covered in brown
hair./ He stopped the car and so did the driver coming from the other direction./ The creature crossed the road in front
of both cars./ His daughter asked him what was that they had seen./ He didn't want to scare her so he said it was a cow,
but his mind was finally accepting the fact that they had just seen a Skunk Ape./ She replied that it looked like a "Bigfoot"
to her./ His daughter was eighteen when he finally sent this story in and they still talk about what they saw and the joke
about the"cow"./ His younger daughter said she might have missed it but she'd seen lots of cows anyways.
GADSON COUNTY- Florida,-Georgia Border./ A hunter saw a creature taller then his 6 foot,6 inch frame./ It was
dirty brown and ran on two legs./ The creature had a bad smell.
ESCAMBIA COUNTY-Escambia River,Fl./ Fisherman fishing on the river which because of lots of rain had been elevated
and the water now joined the swamp,heard movement in the water and looked to see a dark figure 6 to 7 feet tall wading
in the shallows./ The creature seeing the witness started wading out to him but the water became too deep,it turned and
went back to the shallows./ It stood and looked at the witness and then turned and went deeper into the swamp.
LEVEY COUNTY- Cedar Key,Fl./ Land owner claims 50 acres of woods that is surrounded by State Management Acres./
He said that it was three miles into his place./ He and a friend were sitting on front porch at 3 AM. Hunting hogs./ they
heard what sounded like 2 two by fours hitting together./ They yelled out into the dark but no one answered,as no one
was suppose to be on the property the men, scared, said who ever was out there better make their selves known./ No
one did./ They tried to duplicate the sound but it didn't sound the same./ Later on in 2003 a girlfriend heard the same
sound./ His son said that he saw red eyes 8 foot off the ground in the same area the sounds came from.
DUVAL COUNTY-Jacksonville and Fernando Beach,Fl./ On Hwy between these two citys./ Hwy A1A./ The witness said
that he and his family were heading home after being with friends in Jacksonville./ It was late and the kids were a sleep
in the back seat./ He thought his wife had gone to sleep too./ He had the radio on and his bright lights as no one else
was on the road./ Coming around a curve in the road he saw what he thought was a Park Ranger closing a gate to the
Park./ WHEN HE GOT CLOSER HE SAW A FIGURE CROSS THE ROAD IN FRONT OF HIM AND REALIZED WHAT HE
WAS SEEING WAS A SKUNK APE./ HIS WIFE ASKED "WAS THAT A SKUNK APE" AND HE SAID HE ANSWERED HE
THOUGHT SO./ AFTER GETTING HOME AND GETTING THE CHILDREN TO BED THEY EXCITEDLY TALKED ABOUT
WHAT THEY HAD SEEN.
