1982-MADISON COUNTY-North Carolina- Wooded and mountains./ Witness said he went deer hunting with a friend of
his,riding in friends pick-up truck./ He said they were in a very thick old growth Forest in the mountains. They parked at
the end of an old red clay logging road overlooking a clear cut area. They split up about 3 Pm, going in different
directions. It was drizzling rain off and on and the sky was overcast./ The time of year was late fall./ He said he hiked
several miles from the truck, mostly scouting the area as this was new country to him. He said he was armed with a 308
cal. rifle./ Didn't see any game./ There were lots of deer sign and strangely no squirrels,no birds or anything./ Starting to
get late he decided to get back to the truck and his friend./ He said he felt nervous in the woods, which was unusual as
he was a hunter and fisherman./ Walking through a semi open area where there had been an old homestead many
years ago, he felt the hair rise on his neck and felt like he was being watched./ Looking around he didn't see anything./
Immediately he started climbing up the ridge away from the area' headed back towards the truck. That's when he started
hearing noises behind him in the brush./ It seemed to stop when he did./ He started calling out but got no response./ He
was getting creeped out; what ever was following him was breaking branches and seemed to be big and heavy./ He
hollered several more times for his friend but didn't get an answer. Getting to the road it was almost dark and the fog
had started to settle in./ He said he could still here what ever it was still following him as he started to run to the truck.
Getting there he found his friend hadn't returned./ That's when a good size rock came and hit the road close to the
truck. This thing was circling the truck and the witness really scared now, shot the rifle up into the air. The truck was
locked./ That's when the howling started and having enough he broke the side wing glass and got into the truck to wait
on his friend who took a couple more hours to get there./ He said he'd gotten lost./ He knew that the witness was scared
and up-set. He said that back in the 20's and 30's his grandmother said that the men folk would walk their women folk
home from church carrying a rifle for protection because of "The Monkey Man"./ The witness told the story to people but
quit when all he got was being laughed at. He said that it was the scariest thing that ever happened to him.
SANTA ROSA COUNTY-Milton,Fl./ It was breaking daylight when this hunter saw a creature he said walked up right on
two legs. It was walking ,but moving fast../ The creature was reddish brown in color./ It was on a hilly terrain with lots of
pine woods. / He saw through an opening that was cut through the woods for power lines.
PASCO COUNTY-1981-82- New Port Richey,Florida-The witness, a retired teacher at local college,teacher of
Oceanography. Director at that time of science center which was located on the inlet of the Gulf of Mexico called Salt
Spring Run which is surrounded by typical upper west coast Florida Juncas- Spartina marsh with mangrove islands..
The witness said this was about 9 PM after locking the gate to the center he was traveling down the road and after
entering a curve he saw a creature that was 5 1/2 to 6 feet tall walk in front of his car. It stopped and turned its head
towards him. It had grayish brown fur/hair that covered its body that didn't look thick. It had a flat nose on a simian face
that he described as looking like a drawing he saw of an early hominid in a National Geographic magazine. It had ears
ion the sides of its head. It looked at him then crossed the road and entered the marsh. Witness said he got out of his
station wagon to see if he could still see it but it was gone. There was no smell and the hard shell rock road left no
prints.
